The Tale of Two EastWoods
After watching the 5th Philippine International PyroMusical Competition yesterday, 22 March 2014 at the Mall of Asia, courtesy of Viber, I headed to Eastwood Libis to meet some friends. I managed to squeeze in the MRT to Cubao Station and from there, boarded a van to EastWood. The route was unfamiliar. I thought that the driver was just trying to avoid the heavy traffic. Afterall, it took almost an hour cab-ride from MuffinMall in Vito Cruz to MOA Music Hall. It was already in Sandiganbayan, Commonwealth, when I discovered that the van was headed to Eastwood, Montalban (instead of Libis)! My friends and I ended up meeting in Technohub instead.
Twin Phoenix
The Philippine exhibition at the 5th Philippine International PyroMusical Competition was really awesome. Two remote-controlled scintillating birds soared through a curtain of fireworks. Then after a few minutes, the birds exploded and transformed to a Phoenix! After a while, the flames were extinguished and the birds flew on, unscathed. There may be symbolisms to it, or it may just be a showcase of brilliant pyro-engineering. Whatever it may be, it was breathtaking! The exhibition concluded with Sarah G's live performance drowned by the multitude of firecrackers!
